SBH Future division caters to young adults 18 and older, we seek to provide our volunteers with the opportunity to do hesed within a social atmosphere.
Future Committee is run by a great group off young adults all bringing to the table something special and valuable; a true vision of the future.
- Our day to day operations are run by our administrative officers of Albert Haber, Maor Ohana, Charles Cohen and Alice Labaton
-
Special events led by Joy Penias, Sarah Abboud and Jacqueline Tawil; capture the essence of what a volunteer searches for. Creating parties at the Ahi Ezer home for the holidays and inspiring classes and elaborate events that cater to anyones idea of a good time while doing hesed!
-
Hospital visiting led by Doris Dweck and Gail Cohen; no matter which of our area hospitals we are visiting; NYU on Tuesday nights, or Maimonidies in Brooklyn, or Chaim Solomon Nursing Home on Thursday nights, a group of young adults bring smiles to those in need. A patch Adams method has been adopted and from time to time, the Future committee can be spotted dressed in clown attire.
-
Sunday Funday led by Rachel Ovadya; is one of our core programs, where twice a month on Sundays at noon, a group of young kids get to come out and spend a few hours with our volunteers doing exciting activities, such as shows; laser tag; and more. One volunteer is quoted saying, "one rewarding day, if you ask me"
-
Soup Kitchen led by Renna Abady, is a key program we run 1-2 times a month where we make our very own soup kitchen in Manhattan and serve up some hot food, warm conversation and of course, Bingo to our patrons of the night. A great experience, come check it out for your self. Not to mention the great night out after when we go for a light dinner with the volunteers
-
Movie night led by Raquel Gabbai is when the big screen comes to Ahi Ezer on Kings Highway. A night of movie and snacks when a group of girls enjoy a new movie with the lovely ladies of Ahi Ezer, dont forget the popcorn!
-
Fundraising led by Jack Jemal runs some of our great raffles which can be seen from time to time for some cool prizes!
-
Shoot The Breeze, is a program organized with various mediators in which we have a forum of a select group of our communities young adults to discuss some of the top issues facing our community. A time to reflect, communicate and learn the benefit of doing so with your fellow community members. These sessions take place every two weeks for an hour. All issues discussed are kept in strict confidence.
